Reverend Chaplain Allison Ryan Powell

Allison is a native of Teaneck, New Jersey. Her family imparted impactful West Indian/Afro-Caribbean culture, family values, and diverse religious exposures. In college, she was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1987 under the Apostolic Holiness Pentecostal ministry leadership of Bishop E. McDonald Wortham in Baltimore Maryland. God called her to Cleveland Tennessee where she attended bible college and grew in ministry leadership. She was ordained in January 1998 by the Late Pastor David A. Woodrow’s Embassy Christian Center under the Roberts Liardon Ministries. In 2000, Reverend Allison returned to Teaneck New Jersey, and joined Brothers and Sisters Church as a seminary student. Allison was a bible school teacher and offered pulpit support. Accepting her call to ministry has resulted in Allison having various duty assignments nationwide.

Living a life of service, Allison brings concurrent 25-years of ordained ministry and 30-years in business/not-for-profit/entrepreneurial leadership. Reverend Chaplain Allison is a board-certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.She possesses’ Ten (10) years of servant leadership as US Army Reserves Chaplain. Thirteen (13) years as a Chaplain in corporate, industrial, and healthcare settings. Her assignments include: two VA Hospitals, Tyson Foods Inc., and Houston Methodist Hospital. Currently, Allison serves at Baylor- St. Luke’s hospital in The Woodlands Texas. Entrepreneurially, Allison is a business strategist to small business, IoT solutions consultant, confidential chaplain listener, international missions’ leader, and conference/retreat leader. Allison is pastoral and enthusiastic about reaching the least, the lost, and the last, serving those underserved within the USA, other Indigenous, and International Caribbean communities.

Academically, Allison possess’ a B.A. in Political Science at University of Maryland Baltimore County (U.M.B.C.), M.S. in Transportation Management/Community Development/Logistics from Morgan State University, Cum Laude, and a M.Div. from Drew University’s Theological School, Cum Laude.

Allison is a friend, cousin, sister, aunt, youngest daughter of three, and owner of dog Tobit. She surrounds herself with rich relationships, loving family, and friends. Her favorite scripture is Psalms 34:8 “O taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the person who takes refuge in him.”
